Most Apt Title

The award of "Most Apt Title" will be given to one image each month from any competition. It can be awarded to an image in any level.

It will be awarded to the image with the highest quality title in relation to the judge's own personal concept of the visual story. The technical quality of the photography should be secondary to this criterion. Technical quality of the image will be rewarded in other awards.

During the Annual competition judging night, the judging panel will be asked to select the "Most Apt Title" for the year from the nine (9) monthly "Most Apt Title" awards. The award for the Annual Most Apt Title consists of a perpetual trophy donated to the club by Bob Britcher.

Concept of an Apt Title

The title should inspire thinking beyond the visually obvious. Suggestions would include:

Insightful

Intuitive - Perceptive - Sharp-witted

Humorous

Inspires a sense of humour in the viewer

Newsworthy

Relevant to contemporary stories reported in the press

Semiotic based

Using metaphors & symbols as a visual language to communicate a message.
